Hanumankind is back, and he’s making a bold statement with his latest single, Run It Up. Following the success of his viral hit Big Dawgs, Hanumankind, also known as HMK, reunites with the powerhouse duo of producer Kalmi and director Bijoy Shetty for this electrifying new release.

In 2024, Big Dawgs shattered expectations, earning RIAA platinum status in under six months and ranking among the Top 10 most streamed rap songs on Spotify. Now, with Run It Up, Hanumankind is doubling down on his ambitions and pushing the limits of Indian hip-hop.

“There ain’t a person alive that be matching the vibe/And it honestly ain’t even fair,” he spits over intense, driving percussion. The track features the thunderous chenda, a traditional drum from Kerala, adding a powerful South Indian flavor to the beat.

The song’s release was hyped up in the days leading to its music video premiere at 12:52 a.m. Eastern on March 7, a time that HMK teased as having special significance.

Born Sooraj Cherukat in Kerala, Hanumankind spent his early years in Houston, Texas, before moving back to India in 2012, where he initially worked at Goldman Sachs. But music was always the endgame. Now, signed to Def Jam India/Capitol Records, HMK is set to make his Coachella debut next month, marking a historic moment for Indian rap on the global stage.
